Overview
Basics of Sarod course will be a strong foundation for aspirants keen in learning to play Hindustani or Indian classical music on a musical instrument, especially Sarod. The foundations of Hindustani classical music laid out in this course will help students to adhere to the needs of learning Indian music in great detail. It will also educate the students enough to be able to practice these learning on any stringed instrument not restricting their choice of string instrument to Sarod
The course is designed to introduce young children to Hindustani Music. These courses provide a foundation for young children to enjoy and appreciate Indian music. The lessons introduce the children to the fundamentals of Hindustani music with an approach of generating curiosity. Introducing music early helps in the all-round development of the child.
The concepts of Sur and Laya are weaved into interesting poetry and rhythm. The child is led to a discovery of Swaras, Raga and Taal through the process of learning.
This Course provide a strong foundation of voice culture, listening skills, Swara patterning skills, Rhythm concepts and exercises to develop correlation of Swaras to sound. This courses encourage creative thinking by introducing them composing exercises.
Objectives
To introduce the seven Swaras which are the building blocks of all music
To sing simple tunes based on Shuddh Swaras and Bhupali with a perfect sense of Sur and Laya
To discover natural rhythm
To co ordinate singing with rhythm
Prerequisites
The minimum age for this course is 6 years completed. This course is best suited for children from 6 years to 9 years of age.
The student to be in possession of a sarod and a Jaba (plectrum).
Students with some knowledge about Hindustani music vocals will be an added advantage.
Students need to strictly adhere to practicing the instrument for a minimum of one to two hours daily to realize progress.

26 Weeks. Total 26 Classes – One 60 Minutes Class per week.
